Burrow Stresses Passing Dominance as Bengals Fall to Jaguars

Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow emphasized continued reliance on the passing game after sending them into defeat against the Jaguars in a 22‑17 loss.

During the session Burrow acknowledged that while the offense struggled—averaging only 13 designed runs for 18 yards—his priority remained developing the aerial attack. He addressed concerns head‑on by saying, “Let’s throw it more.”

“I’m confident in creating success through the air,” Burrow explained, “and our pass protection has been exceptional recently. Although we’d like to increase rushing contributions, we’re prepared to lean heavily on the ball in the coming weeks.”

The quarterback posted 39 of 54 attempts for 428 yards, missing veteran wideout Ja’Marr Chase for much of the contest but delivering a critical one‑yard touchdown run at halftime before securing two interceptions, one of which occurred late in the second quarter to deny a possible comeback scoring chance.

Coaching staff highlighted that the unit will focus on sharpening the ground game soon before Week 5, targeting improvements in rushing efficiency to complement the strong passing performance.
