John Talabot Unveils OR Project with Ambitious Ambient Album Music For Empty Stadiums

Catalan electronic producer John Talabot, known for his sporadic yet impactful output, is set to deliver his most expansive work yet. While he has traditionally released music in the form of singles and EPs—with only two full-length albums to date, 2012’s ƒIN and 2017’s The Night Land under the Talaboman moniker—his latest endeavor marks a shift toward longform composition.

Talabot introduces his new project OR—a simplified nod to his given name, Oriol Riverola—with the upcoming album Music For Empty Stadiums. Scheduled for release next month, the record will mark the 100th release on the influential label AD 93. Described as an exploration into “the most euphoric possible variant of ambient,” the album unfolds through lush, evolving textures and is anchored by its mesmerizing lead single, “Nokik Messiah.”
