WWE icon John Cena recently uncovered an unexpected detail about his brief role in Hannah Montana. During a conversation on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Cena revealed he hadn’t realized he and co-star Jason Earles—who portrayed Miley Cyrus’ brother Jackson—were the same age during their scene together.
Cena appeared in Season 4, Episode 7, titled “Love That Lets Go,” in 2010. He played a cameo character who delivered wrestling advice in a dream sequence to Jackson. The episode blended humor and WWE-inspired antics, with Cena’s in-character reprimands adding a unique dynamic to the storyline.
When Fallon disclosed their shared age—both in their mid-30s at the time—Cena expressed disbelief. “I thought I was working with a kid,” he said, pointing to a photo of the younger-looking Earles. “I’m still processing this. It’s like finding out you’re not actually that old after all.”
Earles later admitted he intentionally misrepresented his age to secure the role, a decision driven by an executive’s request to avoid revealing his marital status. This revelation adds a layer of intrigue to Cena’s surprise, highlighting the contrast between their on-screen personas and real-life similarities.
