Jordan and Grey Forge Historic WWE NXT Women’s Title Bout

Jordan and Kendal Grey produced a historic women’s singles performance at WWE NXT Heatwave.

At last week’s WWE NXT Heatwave, Jordan defeated Grey to claim the WWE NXT Women’s Championship. Widely considered one of the night’s finest matches, Jordan has since reflected on the bout and the record they established.

In an interview with Going Ringside, Jordan discussed the intensity of the match and its historical significance as the longest women’s singles contest.

“Yes. And also Kendal [Grey] and I, we had an instant classic. It was a tough match for both of us. It also was a, like, a little less, like a few seconds less than 23 minutes, which is the longest women’s match, like singles match with no stipulation. So we both gave our all, 110%, but the best woman won that day,” she said.

While several other women’s matches have exceeded their runtime, Jordan and Grey’s contest set the record for the longest singles match without any stipulation. Charlotte Flair and Mercedes Mone [Sasha Banks] hold the record for the longest women’s singles match in WWE, which they created during their 30 Minute Iron Man Match at WWE Roadblock 2016.
