Jordanian air defenses successfully intercepted four missiles launched from Iran during the early hours of Sunday, according to an official military statement. The projectiles were detected and neutralized over Jordanian airspace before they could reach their intended targets.
The Jordanian Armed Forces confirmed that the interception operation was carried out without any reported casualties or material damage on the ground. Debris from the destroyed missiles fell in unpopulated areas, and specialized teams have been deployed to secure the sites.
The incident marks a significant escalation in regional tensions. Jordan’s Foreign Ministry condemned the violation of its sovereignty, labeling the attack a “dangerous escalation” that threatens regional security and stability. Officials emphasized the Kingdom’s right to defend its territory and citizens by all necessary means.
Regional allies and international partners have expressed solidarity with Amman. The United States, a key security partner, reiterated its “ironclad” commitment to Jordan’s defense. Diplomatic channels remain active as efforts continue to de-escalate the broader conflict engulfing the Middle East.
