Kirk McKenzie, the left-handed Jamaican batter, will join the squad replacing John Campbell. Campbell has been ruled out of the series due to a left hamstring injury sustained during the recent ODI series against New Zealand. McKenzie’s selection follows an impressive West Indies Championship campaign, where he amassed 323 runs in six innings at an average of 64.60.
Anderson Phillip, the right-arm pacer, has been omitted from the squad following his performance in the second Test against Sri Lanka, where he recorded figures of 1/72 and 1/27 alongside a duck. The remainder of the squad remains unchanged, with Jomel Warrican retaining his role as vice-captain.
The two-Test series is scheduled to take place between July 25 and August 6 in Tarouba and Port of Spain. The match in Tarouba will mark the inaugural Test hosted at the Brian Lara stadium. Both sides currently sit at the bottom of the World Test Championship standings, with the West Indies having won one of ten Tests and Pakistan winning one of four.
