Japanese utilities aim to develop technologies capable of reducing carbon dioxide emissions by up to 90%

TOKYO — In an effort to advance carbon capture and storage (CCS) technology, Kansai Electric Power and Kawasaki Heavy Industries are collaborating on a project to transport carbon dioxide from a coal-fired power plant to a remote site. The pilot transport is expected to begin as early as this fiscal year.
