The artist first hinted at the release on Thursday night with a vibrant video captioned, “1 million comments and I’ll drop it tomorrow during the show.” The milestone was reached, and fans were treated to the track live. In the teaser clip, Karol appears in full glam and an oversized white hoodie, flanked by dancers in matching attire. “Those little eyes, what is it baby? Don’t look at me like that,” Karol’s voice-over says in Spanish before a beat drops and blue lights flash as the group dances, revealing neon pink bikinis emblazoned with key lyrics from the song.

“Matadora” arrives amid growing speculation that Karol is stepping into a new artistic phase following the 2025 release of her album Tropicoqueta. When she announced her tour in April—after teasing it during her landmark Coachella headlining set—she hinted at something bigger. “If you think you’ve already seen it all, remember that La Bichota always surprises you,” Karol said at the time, leaning into the signature blue aesthetic from the “Matadora” teaser.

In a recent episode of Vogue’s “The Run-Through” podcast, Karol opened up about her time in the studio while preparing for her global tour. “Summer has been all about rehearsals and creating at the same time,” she shared. “I’ve been so inspired making music since November,” she added.

This bold new music marks a powerful celebration of her historic tour. Spanning 39 stadium dates across North America, South America, and Europe, Karol is set to become the first Latina artist to headline stadiums throughout Europe as part of a worldwide tour, solidifying her global influence. “I can’t wait for people to see what we pull off together,” she said in the same interview. “It’s incredible.”
