Toronto Raptors forward Kawhi Leonard will miss at least a week after the team announced Tuesday that he is dealing with swelling in his left knee.
The seven‑time All‑Star was scratched roughly an hour before Toronto’s 117‑94 road loss on Sunday to the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Medical imaging showed no acute injury, but the 35‑year‑old Leonard has a documented history of knee issues.
The timetable means he will sit out the next four games, starting with Wednesday night’s home game against the Orlando Magic.
Leonard helped Toronto win the 2019 NBA championship and entered the season averaging 19.5 points and 7.5 rebounds per game.
In those first two games, the two‑time Finals MVP shot just 32.4% from the field, missing 10 of his 14 three‑point attempts.
