This Friday, Kelela will finally release her long‑anticipated third album, New Avatar. In a preview of the record, she drops the new single “The Bridge,” featuring vocal contributions from PinkPantheress.
While New Avatar departs from the electronic R&B that has defined Kelela’s earlier work, it pays homage to her early songwriting days in the Washington, D.C. scene, blending elements of shoegaze, grunge, and indie rock with her signature sonic palette.
“The Bridge” follows previous singles such as “Idea 1,” “Linknb,” “Point Blank,” and “Outta Time,” and it is part of a roster of collaborations on the album that also includes guest appearances by A.K. Paul and Fousheé competición.
Kelela’s previous studio album, Raven, was released in 2023 and spawned a remix collection featuring tracks by LSDXOXO, Tygapaw, and Shygirl, as well as the live album In the Blue Light earlier this year. Meanwhile, PinkPantheress has already unveiled her studio album, Fancy That, and its remix edition, Fancy Some More?, in 2025.
