Kenny Omega secured his second AEW World Championship at AEW Dynamite: Beach Break, defeating MJF in a high-stakes main event at The BayCare Sound in Clearwater, Florida. The victory marked Omega’s return to the top, ending MJF’s latest title reign under conditions that would have barred Omega from future championship opportunities had he lost.
The triumph concluded Omega’s trilogy with MJF, all matches for the AEW World Championship, including Omega’s previous defeat at Dynasty earlier this year. The outcome now paves the way for Omega to defend the title against Owen Hart Cup winner Will Ospreay at All In: London on August 30. Prior to the championship match, Ospreay expressed his eagerness to challenge Omega at Wembley, only to be interrupted by MJF, who delivered a face-spitting maneuver before being restrained by security.
Omega’s win capped a night that also crowned new champions and set up a Redemption title match at an outdoor waterfront amphitheater.
