Kenny Omega has openly questioned Yota Tsuji’s level of experience and ambition following the announcement of their upcoming NJPW encounter. In an interview with Tokyo Sports, Omega suggested that while Tsuji holds significant talent, the champion has yet to prove his mettle on a global scale.
While acknowledging Tsuji’s technical proficiency and highlighting his performance in matches such as his bout with Ryohei Oiwa, Omega’s critique focused on a perceived lack of seasoning and a hesitation to compete against international competition. Omega further suggested that Tsuji has relied on imitating established stars rather than forging a unique identity at the top tier of the industry.
NJPW has officially confirmed that Omega, Tsuji, and Boltin Oleg will face off in a non-title three-way match at Power Struggle on November 3 at the Hiroshima Sun Plaza Hall. This high-stakes matchup follows Omega’s unexpected appearance and challenge during the King of Pro-Wrestling event.
In further news for the Hiroshima show, NJPW announced that Jon Moxley will return to team with Wheeler Yuta. This development comes after Moxley issued a video response to Shingo Takagi, who has been calling him out in recent weeks.
Speaking to Tokyo Sports, Omega emphasized that Japan remains a spiritual home for him and reiterated his long-term goal of challenging for the championship at the Tokyo Dome. While his return to NJPW is now certain, a confirmed title match for Wrestle Kingdom has not yet been established.
