West Ham United, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Burnley, all relegated from the Premier League, will be joined in the Championship by Bolton Wanderers, Cardiff City and Lincoln City, with Lincoln City making their first second‑tier appearance in 65 years.

Leicester City will drop to League One for only the second occasion in their 142‑year history after consecutive relegations, joining Oxford United and Sheffield Wednesday in the third tier.

Leicester City’s opening fixtures will include Bromley — making their debut in the third tier — as well as MK Dons, Cambridge United and Notts County.

Exeter City, Port Vale, Rotherham United and Northampton Town have been relegated to League Two.

York City and Rochdale, each having surpassed 100 points in the National League last season, will gain promotion back to the EFL.
