Kimi Antonelli Shares Heartwarming Moment with Father After Spanish Grand Prix Victory
A moment shared between Kimi Antonelli and his father, Marco Antonelli, has gone viral after the Mercedes driver celebrated his eighth Formula 1 win at the Spanish Grand Prix.
After parking his Mercedes on the grid, Antonelli headed to celebrate with his team. Standing at the front of the barriers was his father, holding a red carnation prepared to present to his son. As he delivered the flower, the two laughed together and embraced before the 20-year-old returned to continue his pre-podium duties.
Fans recognized the scene on social media, praising it as “wholesome” and “precious.”
“Such a wholesome moment. Kimi is so easy to root for,” one fan wrote on Reddit, while another joked: “What is this, The Bachelor?”
“The fact that little red carnation was from Papanelli. Stop, that’s so precious,” another fan posted on X.
Other listeners remarked: “This is the most Italian thing ever and I love it! Andiamo Kimi!” and “The new GOAT.”

Antonelli added another 25 points in Madrid, expanding his championship lead to 81 points ahead of teammate George Russell, who currently holds second position.
Despite his dominant standing in the standings, Antonelli remains careful not to speculate heavily on securing his first world title this season.
“Well, that’s exactly what I don’t want to do,” Antonelli said after the race. “I want to keep pushing race by race, you know, keeping deliveries strong and enjoying the moment fully, and then trying to do my best in every event. We’ll see how it ends by year’s end.”
The 15th round of the season, the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, will be held at the Baku City Circuit from September 24–26.
