October 4, 2026 — RIYADH: King Salman invited Qatar’s Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani to the second GCC-EU Summit, to be hosted by the Kingdom on Oct. 24. The invitation was conveyed by Saudi Ambassador to Qatar Prince Saad bin Mansour bin Saad during a meeting with the emir at Lusail Palace, where they discussed bilateral relations and ways to strengthen them and exchanged greetings.
The first GCC-EU Summit was held in Brussels in October 2024. European Council President Antonio Costa said in September that the partnership is built on “political dialogue, coordination and engagement, with the aim of promoting global and regional peace, security, and prosperity.” He added, “Our past, present and future are interconnected. The time has come to deepen the EU-GCC partnership.”
