King & Spalding Expands Fund Finance Capabilities with New York Hires Bettwy and Joo
King & Spalding has bolstered its Finance and Restructuring practice group in New York with the addition of fund finance partners Andrew Bettwy and Jinyoung “Jin” Joo, strengthening its global fund finance platform.
Bettwy and Joo bring deep expertise advising financial institutions, private equity sponsors, private credit funds, and portfolio companies on diverse financing structures. Their specialized knowledge spans asset-based lending, NAV and portfolio-level facilities, GP stake financings, and other complex financing solutions.
These appointments underscore King & Spalding’s strategic expansion of its fund finance practice. In 2024, the firm established a stronger European presence by adding a Chambers-ranked Band 1 fund finance team in London led by partner Samantha Hutchinson. Earlier this year, the firm also enhanced its U.S. capabilities with the addition of partner Chris Montgomery in New York.
Before joining King & Spalding, Bettwy served as co-head of Global Finance and the Corporate & Fund Finance practice group at Proskauer Rose LLP, and previously chaired the Corporate department. Joo has advised borrowers, lenders, and private investment funds on fund finance, acquisition financings, and restructurings.
The firm’s Finance and Restructuring practice group includes more than 150 lawyers across 11 global offices, serving all 10 largest U.S. banks, major international financial institutions, private credit funds managed by leading asset managers, top private equity firms, and corporate borrowers.
The firm employs approximately 1,300 lawyers across 26 offices in the United States, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia Pacific.
