The benchmark KSE‑100 index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) shifted to a bullish trajectory on Tuesday, adding 421.57 points, a 0.25 % increase, and closed at 171,021.77 points compared with 170,600.20 points the previous day, according to PSX data. The session saw a trading volume of 550.790 million shares valued at Rs27.444 billion, down from 589.759 million shares worth Rs31.984 billion in the prior session. Market capitalisation rose to Rs18.940 trillion from Rs18.876 trillion a day earlier. Of the 488 active stocks, 221 advanced, 226 fell, and 41 remained unchanged. WorldCall Telecom led trading volume with 42.984 million shares, followed by Treet Battery Ltd. at 41.012 million shares and Dewan Cement with 30.501 million shares. Among the advancers, The Thal Industries Corporation Limited rose Rs84.70 to Rs931.72, while Nestle Pakistan Limited gained Rs56.29 to close at Rs7,702.00.
On the downside, PIA Holding Company Limited slipped Rs333.90 to Rs17,612.00, and Khairpur Sugar Mills Limited dropped Rs267.24 to Rs2,405.12.
In the futures market, 310 companies traded, of which 161 posted gains, 142 posted losses, and 7 were unchanged, per PSX data.
