FOX Business host Larry Kudlow underscored the nation’s strong economic momentum and reflected on the enduring value of American liberty as the country prepares for its 250th birthday.
In the year since the enactment of the One Big, Beautiful Bill, which delivered major tax reductions, equity markets have posted impressive gains. During the second quarter, the S&P 500 rose 15%, the NASDAQ advanced 21%—its best performance in six years—and the Russell 2000 recorded its strongest first half in 35 years. The Dow Jones Industrial Average also crossed the 52,000‑point threshold.
Kudlow noted that businesses are thriving, jobs are being created, energy prices are easing, and the dollar remains robust.
On the same program, FOX Business host Charles Payne reported Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh’s expressed optimism at the ECB Forum on “Making Money.”
As the nation gears up to commemorate the July 4th signing of the Declaration of Independence two and a half centuries ago, Kudlow revisited President Reagan’s 1980 Republican National Convention address. Reagan asked, “Can we doubt that only a Divine Providence placed this land, this island of freedom, here as a refuge for all those people in the world who yearn to breathe free?”
Reagan frequently praised freedom, and his iconic phrasing from the Declaration—“we are endowed by our Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness”—continues to resonate.
Kudlow emphasized the importance of these principles, linking them to free‑enterprise, limited government, the rule of law, private property, market competition, and individual incentives.
A panel on “The Big Money Show” discussed a surprising Democratic Socialist primary victory in Colorado, viewing the outcome as a signal of deepening divisions within the Democratic Party and the growing influence of far‑left policies.
These developments, the panel argued, underscore the significance of core American values and a thriving economy that rewards entrepreneurship and risk‑taking.
Kudlow stressed the necessity of defending free‑enterprise, cautioning against excessive taxation, regulation, and what he described as misguided socialist giveaways.
He affirmed that work itself is a fundamental value, and expressed confidence that, as Reagan, President Trump, and the nation’s founders envisioned, America’s best days lie ahead—provided citizens continue to fight for their freedoms.
