Kurt Angle Recalls Nearly Embarrassing WWE Segment Filming

Kurt Angle has spoken out about a controversial WWE segment featuring The Big Show (Paul Wight).

In a recent episode of WWE Photo Shoot, Angle was presented with a photograph from the notorious 2004 segment in which he fired a tranquilizer dart gun at Big Show and then shaved his head.

Reflecting on the incident, Angle said the segment was conceived by Vince McMahon.

Angle recalled that McMahon instructed him to imagine Big Show as a bear, shoot him in the back with a tranquilizer dart, and then shave his head.

Angle added that McMahon instructed him to adopt a hunter’s pose, celebrating his victory after bringing down his target.

He recalled McMahon saying, “Pose as a hunter who’s proud of having shot the bear dead and is holding up its head.”

Although the segment was intended to generate heat, Angle admitted it was challenging to execute because of his close relationship with Big Show.

Angle reflected, “I thought, “Oh God, this is my best friend I’m doing this to,” and I felt almost embarrassed.”

The Olympic gold medalist noted that Big Show handled the situation professionally and remained a good sport throughout the angle.

The 2004 storyline featured Angle targeting Big Show after the giant returned to WWE programming, resulting in a memorable and bizarre segment from that era.
