Twenty‑one of the thirty‑three individuals caught in the landslide in northwest China have perished, and seven more have been injured, as typhoons, flooding and other geological disasters continue to batter the nation.
The victims, primarily woodworkers tasked with tree trimming in Longnan, Gansu province, were recovered on Tuesday. Officials announced during a press briefing that, as of Wednesday morning, all persons involved in the incident had been rescued.
Rescue teams are still scouring the scene for those trapped by unprecedented floods in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region of southern China, while alerts have been issued elsewhere for strong winds and several days of rain.
