Lebanese Army Reports Nearly 7,700 Israeli Violations Since Framework Agreement

The Lebanese military announced on Wednesday that it had documented nearly 7,700 Israeli violations since the framework agreement was signed on 26 June, cautioning that ongoing breaches jeopardized existing understandings and arrangements.

In a statement, the army command reported that Israel had intensified strikes on residential areas and institutions in recent days, resulting in numerous casualties.

The most recent attack killed at least 12 people, including women and children, which the army characterized as a massacre in the town of Kafr Rumman in the Nabatieh district.

Israeli attacks have escalated across several areas of southern Lebanon in recent days, particularly around Nabatieh, with ongoing airstrikes and artillery shelling.

The escalation coincides with preparations for a new round of negotiations expected to be held in Rome later this month under US sponsorship, though Lebanon has not yet officially confirmed a date for the talks.

The army stated that the continuation and escalation of attacks, combined with what it described as “brutal” demolition and explosions in the south, left no doubt about Israel’s “aggressive intentions.”

It said the actions violated international law, threatened existing understandings and arrangements, hindered the army’s efforts to establish stability, and constituted a blatant violation of Lebanon’s sovereignty and security.
