Non-governmental organisations are accusing the European Union of being complicit in horrific violations and abuses in Libya. Amnesty International, in particular, says the EU is effectively cooperating with a xenophobic and racist country. The accusation comes as Europe moves to bolster efforts to stem migration and introduces the EU Pact on Migration and Asylum, overhauling how the bloc manages its borders. In this Perspective report we speak to Diane Fogelman, migration advocacy officer at Amnesty International France.
