A Lima café is offering espressos, lattes, and cappuccinos adorned with detailed portraits of Pope Leo XIV in anticipation of his upcoming November visit.
The video features barista Ariana Mallma skillfully sketching the pontiff’s likeness in chocolate before presenting the completed designs.
Owner Carlos Risco explained that the team experimented with multiple sketches before arriving at a polished, recognizable image. Mallma likened the process to painting on canvas, noting that the technique demands careful precision to prevent the foam from smudging.
Pope Leo XIV is scheduled to visit Uruguay, Argentina, and Peru between 6 and 17 November, with stops in Lima, Chiclayo, Cusco, and Pucallpa.
