World champion Luke Littler fought through tears as he delivered a stellar performance, exacting revenge on Luke Humphries and reclaiming the Premier League title in one of the tournament’s most memorable finals.
A repeat of the last two finals saw the sport’s elite deliver an unprecedented level of play before a 16,000‑strong crowd at The O2, where Littler edged Humphries 11‑10 to claim victory.
The 19‑year‑old averaged 111 points per round and struck twelve 180s, while second‑seeded Humphries finished with an average of 105 and three checkout throws of 100 or more.
‘It’s been a roller‑coaster,’ Littler said emotionally during his Sky Sports interview on stage.
The opening four weeks left me at the bottom of the table; on the fifth night I finally broke through. Competing in Brighton, I posted a 79‑average, requiring a mental reset.
It was tough, and I was struggling, but now I’m here with the trophy.
After Littler missed a crucial dart, a decisive leg was required to separate the English rivals.
With Humphries down to a single dart, Littler, throwing against the order, hit double 20 on his final arrow to clinch the title for the second time, echoing his 2024 triumph.
Littler reflected on moments of doubt, saying that after Brighton and the Manchester incident — an argument with Gian van Veen — he sat at home questioning his future, telling his partner Faith, “I don’t want to do this anymore, just the crowd every week.”
Emerging from that low point, Littler reached a high after the 36th meeting with Humphries, his upcoming England teammate for June’s World Cup.
Now a two‑time world champion, the teenager has steadily ascended in 2026, adding a Premier League crown to his collection of achievements, which already includes a World Masters and UK Open title.
