Mobii Systems Group Ltd., which provided the “Any Shot, Any Time” live features during LIV Golf’s broadcasts, filed a lawsuit against the golf league in U.S. District Court in Miami last week, citing unpaid invoices and lost revenue, according to ESPN.
The lawsuit seeks $1.13 million, including an unpaid $820,600 licensing fee and a $104,500 usage fee for the 2026 season. Mobii is also claiming $209,531 in lost revenue after LIV Golf notified the company it would discontinue use of its technology for the final six events of the 2026 season.
All required fees for the 2025 season were paid, as the two-year agreement with Mobii was set to expire on December 31, 2026. Following a payment demand sent on May 8, with a May 15 deadline, LIV Golf’s senior vice president of technology, Nick Connor, informed Mobii on May 25 that the company would no longer use the “Any Shot, Any Time” technology for the remainder of the 2026 season, beginning with an event in South Korea later that month.
“We recognize that delays in payment have caused strain in our relationship, and we understand this is a frustrating time,” Connor wrote. “While we understand your frustration, our view is that litigating outstanding invoices will not be a productive use of either of our time and resources.”
“Please note that this decision does not reflect on the quality of work or services provided, and we are truly grateful for your partnership over the last several years.”
Mobii terminated its agreement with LIV Golf the day it received the notice of termination.
The legal action adds pressure to LIV Golf’s uncertain future, as the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund announced in April that it would cease funding the tour after investing over $5 billion since its 2022 launch.
LIV Golf and the PIF were also sued earlier this month by the World Golf Group and Premier Golf League for damages ranging between $210 million and $630 million, alleging they usurped the concept of a global golf league.
LIV Golf CEO Scott O’Neil is seeking $300 million in capital to ensure the tour’s continuation in 2027.
