Luděk Miklosko, former West Ham, QPR and Czech Republic goalkeeper, has died at the age of 64.
Miklosko made nearly 400 appearances for West Ham United between 1990 and 1998, earning the affection of supporters who continued to chant his name long after his departure.
He later rejoined the club in a coaching capacity, serving as a goal‑keeping coach.
Miklosko chose to discontinue his cancer treatment in December 2024, three years after being diagnosed.
A few days later, he attended a Premier League match at London Stadium, where he received a standing ovation from fans during West Ham’s encounter with Liverpool.
West Ham released a statement: “It is with deep and profound sadness that West Ham United announces the passing of legendary former goalkeeper and coach, Luděk Miklosko.”
“Rest in peace, Luděk, our beloved, inspirational goalkeeper and gentle giant of a man.”
