HBO’s Game of Thrones featured an exceptional ensemble cast that brought George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire universe to life with remarkable faithfulness. Certain pairings—such as Emilia Clarke as Daenerys Targaryen and Kit Harington as Jon Snow—became so deeply intertwined with the source material that the actors continue to struggle with distinguishing themselves from their iconic roles.
However, Game of Thrones served as a springboard for numerous supporting performers: Jason Momoa’s portrayal of Khal Drogo, Hannah Waddingham as Septa Unella, and Richard Madden as Robb Stark all launched highly successful careers, with these actors now recognized far beyond their original characters.
Among the fan-favorite characters, one has completely transcended her original role—the incomparable Bella Ramsey. Though Ramsey first gained recognition as the formidable Lyanna Mormont, she has since achieved widespread acclaim for her portrayal of Ellie in HBO’s adaptation of The Last of Us. Coincidentally, her Last of Us co-star Pedro Pascal also rose to global prominence, significantly outshining his smaller role as Oberyn Martell in Game of Thrones.
In a compelling revival, Bella Ramsey’s Lyanna Mormont—the character who met a tragic end in Game of Thrones‘s final season—is set to return in The Lady of Bear Island, releasing September 9 as part of Game of Thrones: Legends.
The expansion of Game of Thrones: Legends includes three new Legendary Champions for the Stark faction. Brienne of Tarth: The True Knight launches August 26, followed by Lyanna Mormont’s The Lady of Bear Island on September 9, and a new Ned Stark champion under the Hand of the King title on September 23. Lyanna’s design emphasizes tactical positioning, rewarding “a team that strikes in the right order, turning one assault into the next until the enemy finally breaks.” This Champion “keeps the North fighting and ensures a Stark leader is ready to answer immediately.” Her release coincides with a Lady of Bear Island Summon event, following the same structure as Brienne’s current True Knight Summon and utilizing Exalted Tokens.
Summons represent Game of Thrones: Legends‘ primary mechanism for obtaining Champion Shards, which players use to unlock and enhance playable characters for strategic team compositions. Zynga’s free-to-play puzzle RPG blends match-3 battles with character collection and team-building mechanics, incorporating elements from across HBO’s Game of Thrones universe.
