In a statement released on Thursday, the rapper reflected on recent events, noting a “collective awakening around Palestinian liberation, the power of billionaires that try to censor that call, and what we expect from artists right now.”
“What happened to me is bigger than one artist or one stage,” he remarked. “When the billionaire class can decide which voices are allowed on stage and which ones are too dangerous to hear, everyone should be paying attention.”
Macklemore added that he has spent the past week reaching out to fellow artists who have utilized their platforms to express solidarity with the Palestinian people, irrespective of potential repercussions.
Acknowledging that the tour was organized rapidly, he noted that several logistical details are still being finalized. “But this is a moment of momentum, and there is work to be done,” he stated.
The newly announced tour is scheduled to commence in Dublin on October 26, followed by performances in Paris on October 29 and London on October 30.
He also confirmed that United States tour dates will be added, with additional tickets slated to go on sale next week.
