French President Emmanuel Macron outlined his strategy for confronting democratic challenges and the growing influence of what he termed “extremes,” highlighting substantial investment in a stronger European Union as his campaign for the upcoming French presidential election takes shape. During a two‑day state visit to Spain, Macron arrived at the Royal Palace in Madrid with his wife Brigitte aboard a Rolls‑Royce escorted by the Royal Guard on horseback in ceremonial dress. In the palace’s cobbled courtyard, the couple was welcomed by King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia, accompanied by a military band and cannon salutes, in the presence of Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez.
