Magnera has finalized an agreement to transfer its Caerphilly, Wales-based metallized paper operations to Polyart Group, a company owned by Prudentia Capital.

Financial details of the transaction have not been disclosed.

The decision follows Magnera’s comprehensive review of its production technologies, product portfolio, and the industries it serves.

During this evaluation, Magnera assessed potential strategies for the Caerphilly business, a manufacturer of metallized paper utilized in premium labeling, gift wrap, and food packaging.

This led to an official sale process under which Polyart will acquire all shares of the Caerphilly operations.

“We are deeply grateful for the dedication and commitment of our Caerphilly team, and we wish them continued success as they join Polyart,” said Magnera CEO Curt Begle. “We also value the loyalty of our customers and remain fully committed to supporting a seamless transition, ensuring exceptional service and continued success for all stakeholders.”

Polyart, a specialist in coatings and films, was established in 2020 through the consolidation of Arjobex, MDV, Tech Folien, and Reisewitz. The company produces paper and film materials for industrial, decorative, and security labels, as well as applications in digital printing and displays. It also performs custom coating work. Based in Boulogne-Billancourt, France, Polyart is globally owned by Prudentia Capital.

Dominik Zwerger, a founding partner at Prudentia Capital, stated: “Prudentia Capital is pleased to add the Caerphilly operations to our portfolio of companies. We’re excited about the additional value we can bring to our existing customers and about growing the business, which serves customers worldwide.” He emphasized the firm’s vision to leverage the Caerphilly team’s expertise to maintain high-quality products.

Magnera supplies over 1,000 global customers with materials used in absorbent hygiene products, protective clothing, wipes, and food and beverage packaging, operating 44 production sites worldwide with a workforce of 8,000 employees.

This divestiture was originally reported by Packaging Gateway, a GlobalData-owned brand.
