Harry Maguire sustained a blow to the nose following an early collision with Thierno Barry during the opening minutes of today’s match.

With Matthijs de Ligt still sidelined, Maguire and Lisandro Martinez remain Carrick’s most experienced central defensive options.

While 20-year-old Yoro and 19-year-old Ayden Heaven possess top-flight experience, both remain relatively early in their professional development compared to their senior teammates.

This match represents United’s first fixture since the close of the transfer window, a period that left many Old Trafford supporters underwhelmed by the club’s summer recruitment.
