Manchester City are expected to make a big-money move for Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez after parting ways with Nico Gonzalez.
The Cityzens have already signed Elliot Anderson this summer, and they are aiming to land two more marquee midfielders before the deadline.
A deal has already been agreed with Lille for Ayyoub Bouaddi, and he is widely expected to join the Cityzens before the next league game.
Manager Enzo Maresca’s side have been in contact with Fernandez’s entourage too, and a formal bid is expected for the World Cup winner pretty soon.
Chelsea have not closed the door on the Argentine’s exit before the transfer deadline. They are set to hold out for at least £120 million for his sale.
Fernandez is only on the bench for tonight’s league opener against Fulham, which is a big hint that he could be on his way out of the club soon.
A transfer could be formally negotiated in the next few days.
