Karl Darlow news

Darlow signs for Man Utd

Manchester United have finalized the signing of goalkeeper Karl Darlow on a free transfer from Leeds United, a move completed alongside the acquisition of Youri Tielemans.

The 35-year-old custodian became Leeds’ first-choice shot-stopper in the latter stages of the previous campaign and was instrumental in the club’s successful fight to retain Premier League status.

Despite Leeds offering a two-year contract extension, the experienced keeper opted to join the Red Devils via a Bosman transfer.

Darlow currently slots in as third-choice keeper behind Senne Lammens and Altay Bayindir, though he is expected to ascend to second choice in the near future.

Bayindir has been linked with an exit for some time, and reports indicate he is nearing a move to Besiktas. The Turkish side are still negotiating a fee with United, but the goalkeeper is widely anticipated to return to the Super Lig shortly.

United’s summer business now totals three arrivals. Andrey Santos was secured yesterday, with Darlow and Tielemans both added to the squad today.
