Manchester United Forward Chido Obi Targets Loan Move
The 18‑year‑old joined Manchester United ahead of the 2024‑25 season and made seven appearances for the first team in his debut campaign.
He was unable to break into the senior lineup during the following season, with players such as Benjamin Sesko, Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha and Joshua Zirkzee preferred up front.
With the club looking to add a new backup striker and Zirkzee potentially departing, Obi’s prospects for next season appear limited.
It is now reported that Obi could be loaned out for the 2026‑27 campaign, with FC Cologne emerging as a leading candidate for his temporary move.
United are aware of growing interest in the former Arsenal academy graduate, but Cologne are keen to secure his signature ahead of other suitors.
Obi is open to a short‑term challenge elsewhere, eager to demonstrate his abilities before aiming for a place in United’s first team.
