Manchester United have identified Fulham’s defensive midfielder Sande Berge as a potential midfield reinforcement for the upcoming season.
The Red Devils have already signed Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans to boost their midfield ahead of the new Premier League campaign. However, they are also targeting a more defensive‑minded midfielder, with Berge among the top options.
The Norwegian previously attracted United’s interest while at Burnley, but ultimately chose to join Fulham after the club did not receive a formal approach. United are now seriously considering a move for him and may need to meet Fulham’s £35m valuation to secure his transfer.
Personal terms are unlikely to be a stumbling block, as Berge could accommodate a rotational role. He is currently on holiday following the World Cup.
In addition to midfield reinforcements, United could also pursue a centre‑forward, especially if Joshua Zirkzee leaves the club. Juventus have shown interest in the young striker.
