Manchester United midfielder Jacob Devaney has rejoined the Scottish Premiership on loan with Hibernian, who retain an option to convert the deal into a permanent transfer.
At 19, he captained United’s Premier League 2 team for the first half of the previous season and subsequently signed with St Mirren, featuring in 18 matches.
Used as a deep‑lying playmaker, the Republic of Ireland Under‑21 international netted a goal and added an assist for the Paisley side.
He appeared for United in July pre‑season fixtures against Wrexham and Rosenborg, finding the net in the match against Rosenborg.
‘He is a technically gifted young international player eager to learn and improve,’ said Hibs head coach David Gray.
‘Having him join before the window closes is a positive step, and we’ll work to integrate him swiftly,’ Gray added.
