Manchester United’s 16‑year‑old midfielder JJ Gabriel has told Chelsea he has no intention of transferring to the Premier League club this window.
The teenager has confirmed his decision to leave United without signing a scholarship contract and is now weighing up options elsewhere, with a move abroad emerging as a likely destination.
Gabriel is not interested in a switch to Chelsea and would have to wait until next summer to join a domestic rival, as United have already registered him in their development squad, potentially blocking a January transfer.
Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are currently leading the race for his signature, with the Spanish giants having contacted his agency. Barcelona were also linked, but sporting director Deco has distanced the club from the speculation and has not made a formal offer.
