Manchester United believe they can sign Alex Scott from Bournemouth for £60 million during the summer transfer window, according to The Athletic.
The Red Devils have already secured an agreement for Atalanta’s Ederson, but they are planning further midfield reinforcements this summer.
Scott is high on United’s list after a standout season with the Cherries, where he excelled in the heart of midfield.
Bournemouth are reluctant to lose the Englishman and hope to activate his £75 million release clause in negotiations.
Nevertheless, United remain confident they can acquire his services for £60 million as the transfer window closes.
Chelsea have also been linked with the midfielder, though they are unlikely to make a major offer unless Enzo Fernández makes an unexpected move.
Fernández has been linked with both Manchester City and Real Madrid.
