Marc Marquez Acknowledges British Grand Prix Struggles Without Panic

Marc Marquez acknowledged his underwhelming performance at the British Grand Prix, attributing it to personal limitations in pace rather than external factors. The Ducati rider struggled to maintain his position, finishing seventh after an early lead of third on the opening lap.

Though the Desmosedici showed no mechanical issues during the race, Marquez noted a critical drop in performance compared to Saturday’s sprint, where a rear-tyre problem hindered his progress. He clarified that both the tyre and bike functioned optimally on Sunday but admitted he “couldn’t find a way to be better” despite consistent speeds in the final laps.

Contrasting his own difficulties, Marquez observed that rival Ducati riders Alex Marquez and Fabio di Giannantonio outperformed him on the circuit. His physical recovery from a shoulder injury was also cited as a limiting factor, as his endurance in race conditions fell short of his previous pace.

Despite a strong title challenge earlier in the season, Marquez remains unfazed by his dip in the championship standings. He emphasized a pragmatic approach, stating: “It’s what I have and I need to manage [it]. The goal is to enjoy riding, and not winning the title is not life-altering.”

Reflecting on his past success at Silverstone, where his riding style compensated for weaknesses, Marquez admitted that his current physical state restricts his ability to dominate sprints. He plans to focus on improving race endurance rather than panicking over short-term setbacks.
