Marc Marquez set the fastest time in Friday morning’s opening Free Practice One (FP1) of the MotoGP World Championship at the 3.15-mile MotorLand Aragón circuit in Alcañiz, Spain. Riding the Michelin-shod Lenovo Team Ducati Desmosedici GP26, the Spanish rider claimed the top spot with a session-leading lap of 1:47.532, guiding the 22-rider field into the weekend’s competition.
Raúl Fernández closely challenged him, finishing just 0.035 seconds behind with a time of 1:47.567 aboard the SuperFile Trackhouse Aprilia RS-GP26. Aprilia claimed another strong position as Marco Bezzecchi secured third place with a lap of 1:47.753 for the Aprilia Racing team.
Alex Marquez followed in fourth, turning a lap of 1:47.796 on the BK8 Gresini Racing Ducati Desmosedici GP26. Completing the top five was Pedro Acosta, who rode the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing RC16 to a time of 1:48.245.
