Trois-Rivières, Quebec – The Trois-Rivières Lions, an ECHL affiliate of the Montreal Canadiens, have announced the signing of defenseman Marcus Tesink ahead of the 2026-27 season.
Tesink makes the move to Trois-Rivières following three seasons in the Elite Ice Hockey League with the Guildford Flames. Across 145 appearances, he tallied 30 points (5g-25a) and posted a +11 plus-minus rating. His strongest offensive campaign came last year, when he recorded 17 points in 54 games.
A native of Saint John, New Brunswick, Tesink played three seasons at Concordia University. In 64 career games at the university level, he registered 16 points (4g-12a).
Prior to his collegiate career, Tesink spent four seasons in the Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League with the Moncton Wildcats, Cape Breton Screaming Eagles, and Saint John Sea Dogs. Over 123 games, he totaled 17 points and concluded his junior career with a +11 rating.
Tesink also has a family connection to the ECHL. His brother, Ryan Tesink, played more than 300 games in the league across a six-season professional career.
