Far-right presidential candidate Marine Le Pen announced on Wednesday that France is unable to continue financing Ukraine, citing the critical economic challenges facing the euro zone’s second-largest economy.
“We can no longer finance Ukraine,” Le Pen stated during a press briefing in Brussels.
She emphasized that France is in an “extremely perilous situation,” pointing to the nation’s high fiscal deficit and sluggish economic growth as key concerns.
Recent polling data suggests that Le Pen is a strong contender in the upcoming presidential election.
