Mark van Bommel Named Belgium National Team Coach Through 2028

Following the dismissal of Rudi García, the Belgian Football Federation has identified his successor to lead the national side.

As announced Wednesday morning by Fabrizio Romano and confirmed by Belgian outlets, an agreement has been secured with former Dutch midfielder Mark van Bommel through 2028.

Having launched his coaching career at PSV Eindhoven in 2018, he is slated to assume responsibility for the Red Devils.

Van Bommel previously managed Royal Antwerp from 2022 to 2024, guiding the club to a historic league‑cup‑super cup treble in 2023.

Provided negotiations proceed smoothly, he is anticipated to be in charge of Belgium’s squad at Euro 2028.
