Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay is not yet in a position to quantify how imminent Myles Garrett’s return will be.
McVay said on Monday that he anticipated possessing an update on the defensive end, who is currently listed on injured reserve following knee surgery, by Thursday. By Thursday, however, he informed reporters that no such update existed.
“I really haven’t even had a chance to specifically — I know that the rehab is progressing well, he’s looked good in the meetings,” McVay said of Garrett. “Literally as I was walking up I realized I said I would have more of an update, and I thought to myself, Oh, shit, I don’t have more of an update on Myles. I’m a total idiot. But I haven’t had a chance. Here’s what I’ll tell you, though: I’ll find out so that I can have more of a specific answer for you guys. I feel like Ron Burgundy up here right now.”
Garrett’s much-anticipated Rams debut fell short during Week 1, as he battled through the knee injury that ultimately required surgery. He is scheduled to miss the Monday night fixture against the Buffalo Bills, although the extent of his additional absence remains undetermined.
