Medtronic Achieves Record Net Income and Revenue Surge in Second Quarter
Medtonic plc (MDT) reported Tuesday that net income for the second quarter totaled $1.47 billion, up from $1.04 billion a year earlier.
Excluding certain items, adjusted earnings for the quarter came to $1.45 per share, compared with $1.26 per share in the prior-year quarter.
Net sales rose 13.7 percent to $9.76 billion, increasing from $8.58 billion in the same quarter last year. Organic revenue also contributed to this increase, growing 13.7 percent.
In Tuesday’s pre‑market trading, MDT trades on the NYSE at $94.94, up $4.26 or 4.69 percent.
