Michael Jackson’s biopic Michael has drawn audiences worldwide since its U.S. release, and the renewed interest has propelled the artist’s catalog up the global charts. While some albums have slipped, many of his enduring singles have surged, setting new peaks on Billboard’s worldwide rankings.
Eleven Songs Reach New All-Time Peaks
Eleven tracks, including a Jackson 5 collaboration, have advanced to record-setting positions on both the Billboard Global 200 and the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. The Global 200 aggregates worldwide sales and streaming data, while the Excl. U.S. excludes American market activity.

“Billie Jean” Takes the Top Spot
Four additional titles broke new ground on the Global 200 alone. “Billie Jean,” for instance, leapt from No. 3 to No. 1, cementing its status as the most popular track worldwide more than a decade after the singer’s passing and over 40 years since its original release.
“Beat It” rose from No. 7 to No. 5, “P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thing)” climbed 10 spots to No. 97, and “Remember the Time” advanced a modest two positions to No. 104.
“Thriller” Moves Higher on the Excl. U.S. Chart
Only “Thriller” achieved a new peak on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S., slipping just outside the top 40 to No. 41 from its previous No. 46.
Stability at Peak Positions
Several classic hits hold steady at their historic highs. “Billie Jean” and “Beat It” remain at Nos. 3 and 5, respectively, on the Global Excl. U.S., while “Rock With You” maintains its best position at No. 60 on the same chart.
Overall Chart Presence
Jackson’s catalog features 18 songs on the global charts this week. Only one track fails to either maintain or surpass its previous high: “Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin’” falls to Nos. 117 and 151 on the Global 200 and Excl. U.S., respectively.
