The Middle Corridor is increasingly vital as a trade artery linking Asia and Europe via Central Asia, the Caspian Sea, and the South Caucasus. Azerbaijan lies at its heart, serving as a hub that integrates railways, ports, and other transport infrastructure.

During an appearance on Business Horizons, Emil Mammadov, Advisor to the Chairman of Azerbaijan Railways (ADY), noted that the corridor is evolving into a genuine trade route amid rising global demand. He emphasized that digital tools are enhancing cargo tracking and coordination. In 2025, the Port of Baku recorded a 40% surge in cargo throughput, underscoring the corridor’s expanding significance.
