Arsenal midfielder Martin Zubimendi is reportedly attracting interest from Chelsea and Real Madrid.
The Spanish international has seen his playing time diminish at Arsenal, losing his status as a guaranteed starter in both Premier League and Champions League fixtures.
Zubimendi was linked with a summer move following Bruno Guimarães’ arrival, but negotiations collapsed, and Arsenal insisted he was unavailable before the deadline.
Chelsea’s initial inquiry fell through, though reports suggest the Blues may renew their pursuit when the transfer window reopens in January.
Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso shares a strong connection with Zubimendi from his time in charge of Real Sociedad B, and would welcome the chance to reunite with his compatriot.
Chelsea could face stiff competition from Real Madrid, who are targeting a high-profile midfielder after failing to secure Rodri from Barcelona last summer.
Zubimendi has remained silent on his future at the Gunners, but Arsenal could allow him to leave if he actively pushes for a transfer.
