Mike D will release Thank You, the first solo album from a Beastie Boy since 2011’s Hot Sauce Committee Part Two, on August 28 through Fontana.
This follows his recent comeback with the singles “Switch Up” and “What We Got,” as well as a series of low‑key UK performances with his Mike D 5D band.
In a press release, Mike D explained, “Creating this music with collaborators I respect has been a rewarding experience. I hope listeners enjoy it, acknowledging that we release it into a complex and often challenging cultural landscape that can undervalue art, feeling, compassion, empathy, and equality.”
