Former TNA World Champion Mike Santana, now under WWE’s banner, officially unveiled his fresh in-ring identity as ‘Cruz Montana’ via social media. This announcement followed WWE’s July 24 filing for the name with the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
Santana’s debut under the Cruz Montana persona occurred during last week’s NXT episode, where he interrupted a street fight between NXT Champion Tony D’Angelo and Naraku. However, the commentary team omitted his name when he entered the arena. His recent post clarified that he intends to address the NXT audience directly on Tuesday’s episode, stating, “For the first time, you get to hear what Cruz Montana has to say.”
